【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesastandardproceduretoevaluateorconfirmstructuralperformanceunderuniformstaticairpressuredifference.Thisprocedureisintendedtorepresenttheeffectsofuniformloadsonexteriorbuildingsurfaceelements.Itisalsopermissibletodevelopdataforload-spantablesbyinterpolatingbetweenthetestresultsatdifferentspans.Note18212;Whenapplyingtheresultsofteststodetermineallowabledesignloadsbyapplicationofafactorofsafety,bearinmindthattheperformanceofawallorroofanditscomponents,orboth,canbeafunctionoffabrication,installation,andadjustment.Thespecimenmustrepresenttheactualstructureclosely.Inservice,theperformancecanalsodependontherigidityofsupportingconstructionandontheresistanceofcomponentstodeteriorationbyvariouscauses,tovibration,tothermalexpansionandcontraction,andsoforth.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationofthestructuralperformanceofsheetmetalpanelsandanchor-to-panelattachmentsforrooforsidingsystemsunderuniformstaticairpressuredifferencesusingatestchamberorsupportsurface.1.2Theprovisionsofthistestmethodareapplicabletostandingseam,trapezoidal,ribbed,orcorrugatedmetalpanelsintherangeofthicknessfrom0.012to0.050-in.(0.3to1.3-mm)andapplytotheevaluationofuniformpressureappliedtosingle-skinconstructionoronesheetmetallayerofmultiple-skinconstruction.Theydonotcoverrequirementsfortheconstructionofaspecimentodeterminetheloadsharingthatcanoccurwitheithercompositeormultiple-layerconstructionsuchas:(1)metalcladdingoverwoodsheathing;or(2)fieldassembliesofinsulationsandwichedbetweencorrugatedorformedmetalpanels.1.3Properuseofthistestmethodrequiresknowledgeoftheprinciplesofpressureanddeflectionmeasurement.1.4Thistestmethoddescribesoptionalapparatusandproceduresforuseinevaluatingthestructuralperformanceofagivensystemforarangeofsupportspacingsorforconfirmingthestructuralperformanceofaspecificinstallation.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Themetricequivalentsofinch-poundunitsareapproximate.1.6Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnotesexclusiveofthosefortablesandfigures.Thesenotesandfootnotesprovideexplanatorymaterialandshallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSection7.
